Upper School 4th Semester Extra Credit

These assignments are each optional, each one will be graded on effort, technique, and craftsmanship, and each grade will be applied to increase a students lowest grades.  Please don’t forget your name on each assignment!

·      Craftsmanship for these assignments means a clean, white paper (such as computer paper) no lines, folds, or rips.

1)   Students complete a value study of their own face, using a mirror as reference.  Face should be proportional, and shading should represent highlights, middle values, and shadows.  See me with any questions.

2) Students complete a still life drawing, assembled at home, representing at least three objects, drawn and shaded fully.  Objects should overlap slightly for good composition, and highlights, middle values, and shadows should be present.

3) Students make a “perspective study”, examples below, must have at least five shapes.  Vanishing point is placed on paper and shapes radiate from vanishing point.  Please watch youtube links for assistance.
